  • San Francisco, CA – Team 51 Meetup

    Last month, Team 51 (the team I am a part of at Automattic) had it’s first-ever official team meetup. We chose San Francisco because half of the team lives there so it made things a little easier to plan. Plus, it’s an awesome city anyway! We even took a little day-trip up to Napa Valley for a little bit of wine tasting! That was especially exciting because it was my first time to Napa.

  • Encinitas, CA

    As I’d mentioned in a previous post, Jen and I are moving to SC. Actually, we’ve just made our trip across the country last week and arrived here this past holiday weekend.

    Reflecting on the past 9 years I’d spent out in San Diego, I have to say that Encinitas has been my favorite spot in all of Southern California. I was fortunate enough to live there for the majority of my time spent in San Diego and I have the fondest of memories of my times spent in the fun little beach town.

  • Thanksgiving Weekend 2014

    I’m a little late on posting this, but I wanted to share anyway. This past Thanksgiving weekend (a few months ago now), Jen and I decided to take a road tip up to the bay area to visit a college friend of hers in Palo Alto. It was our first time visiting that part of The Bay Area. One of the days, we took a train into San Francisco and hung around the city.

  • Julian, CA

    Julian is a small historic gold-mining town in the Cuyamuca Mountains above the Colorado Desert. It is famous for apple pies and Julian Hard Cider.

    Over the weekend, Jen and I went up for a little day-adventure to get a taste of some fall weather … and apple pie, of course!
